Research and Development Institute, Nakhon Phanom University Holds “Manuscript Development Camp” for Science and Technology Publications

On July 23–24, 2026, the Research and Development Institute at Nakhon Phanom University hosted the workshop “Manuscript Development Camp for Science and Technology” at Room 304, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Management Science and Information Technology. The reporting speech was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Khomsak Harchai, Director of the Research and Development Institute, with opening remarks presented by Prof. Dr. Surasit Wachirakhajorn, Vice President for Research and Academic Services.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Khomsak Harchai stated that a survey of research manuscripts revealed a significant number of science and technology papers currently under development that have yet to be published. Research in this field possesses distinct characteristics requiring specialized skills, including quantitative data presentation, statistical analysis, high-quality tables and graphs, and standard academic English writing—skills that demand continuous refinement.

Prof. Dr. Surasit Wachirakhajorn highlighted that publishing science and technology research in high-quality international journals is a critical key performance indicator reflecting an higher education institution’s academic excellence on a global scale. International university rankings, research quality evaluations, and funding allocation from domestic and international sources heavily rely on publication records in global databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. Therefore, this workshop serves as a crucial mechanism to directly enhance the quality of researchers’ manuscripts for practical submission.

The event featured lectures, hands-on workshops, and group discussions facilitated by three expert guest speakers:

  • “The Role of Generative AI in Academic Writing” and “Using Generative AI to Search, Synthesize, and Structure Manuscripts”

  • Ethics in AI usage and academic citation

  • Structuring manuscripts (Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology) using Generative AI

  • Writing results and discussion with Generative AI, alongside developing the Discussion and Conclusion sections

  • Case Study: “Techniques for Refining Manuscripts to Meet National and International Publication Criteria”

  • Hands-on Workshop: Draft manuscript presentations and feedback sessions from the speakers

This workshop successfully empowers researchers to develop science and technology manuscripts that meet rigorous academic standards, elevating draft papers for submission to recognized national and international journals. Furthermore, it promotes the ethical and appropriate application of Generative AI to maximize publication opportunities and enhance Nakhon Phanom University’s overall research standing.
