On 12 May 2026, the Research and Development Institute of Nakhon Phanom University held the 1/2026 Meeting of the Committee for the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at Nakhon Phanom University. Professor Emeritus Dr. Thawatchai Suphadit chaired the meeting, while Dr. Piyarat Parinyapong Charoensap, Secretary of the RSPG Committee, participated in introducing the operational guidelines of the RSPG according to the Seventh Five-Year Master Plan. In addition, Mr. Pornchai Chutamat, Deputy Director of the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative, introduced the overall operational guidelines of the RSPG according to the Seventh Five-Year Master Plan.
During the meeting, the results of the fiscal year 2025 operations were summarized according to the operational framework and activities of the RSPG of Nakhon Phanom University, and the progress report summarizing the fiscal year 2026 operations was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Komsak Hanchai, Director of the Research and Development Institute and Secretary of the RSPG Project of Nakhon Phanom University.
The objective of this meeting was to drive the implementation of the royal initiative in the development of plant genetics, resources, and biodiversity databases, as well as to promote participation among related agencies and local communities in order to achieve sustainability.
